Emma Okonji writes on the need for a greater collaboration to address the rising rates of cybercrime and cyber bullying in the cyberspace In order to create cyber-security awareness among Africans, Nigerians inclusive, most government agencies, including private organisations in Nigeria, penultimate week, joined other African countries to celebrate the Africa Safer Internet Day (ASID), which is the continent’s version of the World Safer Internet Day (WSID). How FCTA trained over 1,090 teachers, staff in 2020- Edu Sec

By Stanley Onyekwere In spite of the global COVID 19 pandemic which paralysed the economy, polity and all other sectors, the FCT Administration was able to train over 1,090 teachers and some non teaching staff of the Education Secretariat in 2020. This was disclosed by Mallam Leramoh Adbulrazaq, Acting Secretary and Director of Administration and Finance, FCT Education Secretariat, at a briefing/ media luncheon, in Abuja. Abdulrazaq, who said the training was in diverse fields of education, added that 300 teachers were trained on general teaching methods and classroom management, while 250 teaching and non teaching staff were trained on global digital skills. He equally added that 150 teachers were trained for primary and junior secondary schools on family life HIV Education, in collaboration with UNESCO.
