Visakhapatnam: After seeing the demand in the market for life-saving instruments, the Diesel Loco Shed (DLS) of Waltair Division has taken up the project to manufacture medically used regulator and oxygen flow meter. On the instructions of Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division Chetan Kumar Srivastava, the DLS has fabricated in-house design of humidifier device under senior divisional mechanical engineer (Diesel) Santosh Kumar Patro by utilising available components as per the requirement of Divisional Railway Hospital in Vizag. Covid vaccination carried out in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hubballi Division over SWR To tackle the Covid – 19 pandemic, as part of Tika Utsav or Vaccine Drive announced by PM Narendra Modi, SWR has taken measures to identify and vaccinate eligible employees and dependents. As a part of the same, today Bengaluru Division, Mysuru and Hubballi Division of South Western Railway vaccinated the employees and their dependents against Covid -19. In Bengaluru Division 234 employees and their dependents aged over 45 years get vaccinated against Covid -19 recently. Vaccinations have been carried out in Railway Hospital / Health Units Bengaluru - 80, Bengaluru Cantonment – 12, Krishnarajpuram, Diesel Loco Shed – 55, Yesvantpur - 29, Yesvantpur, Mechanical Shed - 11, Bangarapet – 42 and Hindupur - 5 in co-ordination with state government.

SCR Vijayawada Division earns ₹2,494 cr revenue during 2020-21

DRM asks passengers to strictly follow COVID precautions Despite facing challenges owing to COVID-19, South Central Railway Vijayawada Division, has earned ₹2,494 crore revenue during 2020-21, said Divisional Railway Manager P. Srinivas. Of the total revenue, earnings on goods transportation was about ₹2,197 crore. The division made several achievements and took up many development works during the lockdown period, he said. Addressing the annual press conference online on Friday, Mr. Srinivas said priority had been given for passenger safety, COVID-19 precautions, completing of long pending works, electrification and service activities when trains were suspended during the lockdown. Commissioning of 30-km third line between Kavali and Ulavapadu stations, double line in Gudivada-Machilipatnam and doubling of tracks on Uppaluru-Moturu stations were completed. Major yard remodelling of Rajahmundry railway station had been completed.
