DevelopTT Crosses its 1,000 Application Milestone March 5, 2021:  DevelopTT, the Automated Construction Permitting System (ACPS) has received over 1000 applications to date. The DevelopTT platform is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) designed to address the deficiencies of the manual construction permit approval process. The platform is an online user-friendly system through which applicants can submit, track and edit building permit applications more efficiently. The pilot project, launched in March 2020, initially covered applications for Planning Permission for the North Regional Office (NRO) T1 Planning Region of the MPD’s Town and Country Planning Division (TCPD) which includes the Diego Martin Regional Corporation, the Port of Spain City Corporation and a portion of the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation. MSJ not contesting January by-elections

MSJ not contesting January by-elections David Abdulah - THE Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) is not contesting five local government by-elections which will take place on January 25. MSJ political leader David Abdulah made this clear at a news conference on Sunday. Abdulah said the MSJ knew these by-elections would be held because former local government representatives were all elected as MPs in the August 10 general election. “We decided we are not taking part in that and we have our own strategic focus which is really about raising consciousness in TT.” Abdulah expected the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections, which will be also be held on January 25, to be keenly contested as it is a stand-alone election which is due every four years.
