The Monkees, the made-for-TV rock band whose albums outsold The Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined in 1967, has announced its farewell tour.
More precisely, the group’s 2020 “An Evening with The Monkees” tour which was twice postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic shutdown has now been transformed into the group’s 2021 “The Monkees Farewell Tour.”
The farewell concert trek, which includes a Sept. 18 show at The Magnolia Performing Arts Center in El Cajon, will open Sept. 11 in Seattle and conclude Nov. 14 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
The Monkees’ two surviving members, Michael Nesmith and Micky Dolenz, announced their final North American concert trek on the Monkees’ website late Tuesday.
