i think everybody was just kind of like, what are they doing, they thought we were crazy because we were honking and putting our windows down and telling them. everybody was just kind of minding their business. we saw him coming closer, i was looking back in the mirror, i could see him loading up a gun, it looked like a long gun that i saw. and i told my husband, he s coming closer, we need to get off the interstate. so my husband got back on the right side of the median and we got off. we turned back on the service road coming back to midland. and he shot at us again when he passed us. and thankfully he didn t hit us or anything, so i mean, we went back and had some ladies waving us down. we stopped there with them. one of the men, he had shot him. we tried to help him and got the cops there. that s the only thing we saw. tiffany, are you and your
midland and he shot us again when he passed us. thankfully he didn t hit us or anything. jo, there s still, frankly, much we do not know here at the scene. there were cell phone videos taken here from this parking lot at the movie theater in which ultimately the gunman ditched his gold hontia and hijacked a u.s. postal service van. that van made its way crashing into a police vehicle here at the scene and that s where ultimately the gun standoff came to an end which officers took aim and killed that gunman. all we know at this point is the gunman via authorities was a white male in his 30s. as that scene took place and people fled in the parking lot and left the scene. it s closed down here. lights are turned off at the movie theater and there are still many questions. we know five dead, 21 injured and only now are we beginning to

car so he could put there because they just had like the sweater or whatever, so i was trying to help him put pressure there with another piece of shirt, and i don t know. where was his injury, tiffany. i don t know how he did it to be honest with you, how he did that. i had saw that he had his long window in the back, hit was sho out. i don t know if that s how he shot the car that was chasing him or what. the injury that you saw, was it in the body. yeah, it was on his lower abdomen. okay. and so when you drove past the suspect, the windows were not open, is what you were saying? to be honest with you, i don t even know. i just saw his back window because we were just trying to we were just not trying to get hit anymore. of course. of course. and were you able to hear gunshots as you were driving around? whenever he was hitting us, my husband heard it. i was freaking out. i didn t know what was going on. he was yelling and i didn t know
they have to because of the governor. take it seriously. when the mandatory evacuations come out, people need to listen and do what is recommended for their own safety. that s what i wanted to ask you about quickly. you talked about your experience with the storms. people essentially are saying, hey, we ve been through this before. we re fine. we re all set. can that experience work against you when you are telling people, all right, this is for real, you need to get out? yeah. i m worried about that. we had a near miss with matthew. came within very, very close. that would have been a devastating hurricane. when it passed, we lucked out and it didn t hit us, people assumed, well, this is not something to worry about. i would say, that is totally wrong. you ve got to listen. just assume the worst. be prepared. it s the old boy scout thing. i also want to say, our city recently sold our government
