Trump support in New Bedford grew from 2016 to 2020

NEW BEDFORD  While most New Bedford precincts held a majority for then-candidate Joe Biden in the 2020 election, a recently published map by the New York Times shows support for Donald Trump grew in some city precincts compared to support in the 2016 election.  The New York Times last week published an extremely detailed map with gradations of red and blue denoting how much a precinct shifted from the 2016 election.  A South End precinct had 25% of votes for Trump in 2020, up from 12% in 2016. Votes for the Democratic candidate dropped about the same amount. In another South End precinct, votes for Trump went from 20% in 2016 to 32% in 2020.
