Heart to heart: Dickinson benefit looks to help newborn recovering from transplant
On May 4, Morgan and Travis Heidt of Dickinson welcomed their newborn son, Franklin. Like most new parents, they were beyond ecstatic for their little one’s arrival. However, their son didn’t have the most welcoming introduction into the world as he underwent a heart transplant shortly after birth and continues to receive treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Almost three months old, Franklin Heidt (pictured above) is recovering from a heart transplant he received recently after birth in May in Rochester, Minn.
