TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for Chief Meteorologist Emeritus Dick Rice who died during the weekend at the age of 80.
Per his request, a private family graveside service will be held at Lee Memorial Park in Verona.
Dick Rice joined WTVA in the late 1970s.
Longtime weatherman Dick Rice died at the age of 80.

Friends may visit Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo Tuesday afternoon from noon to 5 p.m. to pay their respects by signing a register book and watching videos of Rice s life.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) Dick Rice, the longest-serving meteorologist on local television in Northeast Mississippi, died from the coronavirus Saturday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was 80.
Rice first appeared on local television in 1979 when WTVA hired him after his more than two decades in the U.S. Navy to do the weather for the morning and midday newscasts.
