good morning. i m meteorologist tom kierein. this morning we are starting off with some light rain. just a little bit of sprinkles in the district. we ve got a light northeasterly breeze now. we have light to moderately heavy rain advancing toward us. that area of yellow near fredericksburg between fredericksburg and charlottesville is an area of moderate rain. that s advancing north and east. it will coming to stafford and prince william and another half hour toward fairfax county into charles and southern prince george s. much of that heavier rain is going to pass just south of washington. as the morning progresses, we ll get some more rain. right now it s the 50s through most of the region. 56 reagan national. mid-50s suburbs and rural areas. we ll have rain with us throughout the day. sunrise at 6:51. it actually may get a little heavier this afternoon as highs climb into the mid-60s in the afternoon. we ll have maybe a little thunder and lightning too mid to late after
