Christmas holiday may bring heavy rain and damaging wind gusts
Ridgefield Emergency Manager Dick Aarons says that the National Weather Service forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (and beyond) are still a bit uncertain.
Nevertheless, Aarons says that hazardous conditions are possible for Ridgefield from Thursday evening through Christmas Day including heavy rain and damaging wind gusts. Please keep an eye on the weather if you plan a trip over the river and through the woods to grandma s house. The journey could be troublesome.

Dick Aarons, Ridgefield Officer of Emergency Management is following the winter storm and says, We are still in the bullseye for 12-18 inches of snow and strong winds Wednesday pm to Thursday pm. NWS also warns of power outages. Be sure you are prepared. The Ridgefield OEM always advises Ridgefielders to have at least seven days of food, water and medicines on hand in case of extended power outages.
A Winter Storm Warning now in effect for most of the region for tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, December 16 into Thursday morning, December 17.
