23-year-old Diasia Hogan s life seemed to be just getting started.
She gave birth on April 15 to a baby girl named Colette the newest sibling to her other children, 3-year-old Jimari and 1-year-old Pleasant. She bought a car, excitedly texting pictures of the Ford Escape to her sister Danyelle Hogan on April 26. She was recently hired for a new job, according to her cousin Auntaesha Calvert, and she was getting ready to move into a new apartment soon, Danyelle told IndyStar.
But on Sunday, May 2, her morning car ride turned fatal.
Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles on North Franklin and Roy roads about 10 a.m. Officers found Diasia dead. The baby was taken to a hospital, but she died the next day. This little girl fought for her life, Danyelle posted on Facebook. Life just isn’t fair.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) A woman and her baby were killed after a crash on Sunday, the Marion County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.
Diasia Hogan, 23, and her 18-day-old baby, Colette Hogan, died after a Sunday morning crash at the intersection of North Franklin Road and Roy Road.
IMPD say two cars were in the crash about 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Initially, police said, only the woman died; the baby ejected from a vehicle was expected to survive.
Police also said a 12-year-old also in the vehicle with the Hogans was taken to an area hospital and was expected to survive.
