Dobson Pipe Organ Builders will celebrate start of construction of the business’ new workshop on the same site where a fire destroyed the former building two years ago.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was a special night during the Music in the City Park in Valley City for the Ployhar family.
As part of the 25th year of Music in the City Park Bandshell, a number of individuals have been recognized all summer for their contributions to the arts and music in Valley City. One of those was the late James Ployhar, he was recognized for his many accomplishments in music throughout his life during the event on July 28th. He was a native of Valley City and a graduate of Valley City High School and Valley City State University.
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Parks & Recreation is planning another exciting summer of Music at the City Park Bandshell on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 pm starting June 2nd. This summer they will be celebrating 25 years in existence as Music in the Park. Musicians are featured each week showcasing their talents for the community and surrounding area.
Event coordinator Diane Sommerfeld said the free concerts started as “Music in the City Park Bandshell” the summer of 1996. Families and local groups volunteered their time and talents each week. The first couple years the entertainment wasn’t regular but it eventually grew to be every Wednesday evening in June and July. Through the years, interest has grown and we now enjoy entertainment till mid-August.
