Most of the electoral activity is taking place in Jersey City. But over the past few months, the West Hudson town of Kearny has also seen an unusual flurry of politicking.

The HCDO has rolled out their endorsements for the June 8th primary, all of which were largely expected, with the possible exception being that Hudson County Register Diane Coleman won’t be seeking a second term and former Freeholder Jeff Dublin getting the nod to succeed her.
Former Freeholder Jeff Dublin is running for Hudson County register on the Democratic party line.

The news that the Hudson County Democratic Black Caucus has endorsed Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop and his city council slate in the 2021 election comes as no surprise, two community activists say.
After all, three members of the mayor’s ticket seeking re-election Joyce Watterman, Denise Ridley and Jermaine Robinson are members of the caucus, a group of city, county and state elected officials.

The Hudson County Democratic Black Caucus, which includes state Senator Sandra Cunningham, Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (both D-31), County Commissioner Jerry Walker (D-3), and Board of Education Vice President Lekendrick Shaw, is endorsing Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and his council slate.

“The investments that Jersey City is making in the Black community under Mayor Fulop’s leadership have the potential to be truly transformative. Mayor Fulop is addressing the needs of residents by creating new job and apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring that local residents will be ready to obtain high-paying jobs at major infrastructure programs like the Gateway project,” Walker said in a statement.

DECEMBER 9, 2010 – Gays Mills real estate agent Craig Anderson is pictured removing snow from the sidewalk in front of his business, Wisconsin Country Realty… About a dozen parents and children who use the Soldiers Grove Community Building once per week for homeschooling activities attended the village board meeting last Thursday to express concern about a policy that would limit future access to the facility. The new policy would limit the use of the building to allow only government and government related meetings and events. The board tabled action on creating a policy for use of the community building to a future meeting.
