17 shots were fired in all in this case. And police tell us a 16yearold boy was shot in the back and died a short time later. There were bikes on the ground at the scene. The Philadelphia Police are telling us it happened yesterday afternoon a little after 4 30 on the 2200 block of west sedgely street. The two teens were riding bikes down the road when they came up behind a silver buick, four men inside and the boys realized something wasnt right, so they tried to turn around to get away but at least two of the men got out of the car and started chasing them, firing those bullets. Could have been a road rage incident but 17 shots is a lot to fire at two kids on a bike. Reporter the second boy is 15 years old. He was not injured and was able to talk with detectives last night, telling them that he has never seen these men before and as of right now that boy is the only witness in this case. But if you know anything about this youre in that area at that time, you are asked to call police
Its the first time weve done it. But brian miller says the previous gun shop sold weapons that turned up at crime scenes. They attract crime, they attract violence, and thats bad for the whole city. A lot of people were feeling as though they had to choose between getting an education and living their life. And thats a decision that no 20yearold, no 19yearold should have to make. But campus violence is becoming the ever present fixture. For these cases to keep on occurring and not even be surprising anymore is surprising and devastating and really sad. And so a rally is necessary. One of those students says until lawmakers in harrisburg and washington get over their fear of the National Rifle association, nothings going to change.
