How Parton helped fund Moderna
In 2020, Parton donated $1 million to the overall coronavirus research through the Dolly Parton Covid-19 Research Fund and in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, a part of which was used for the research and development of Moderna. She first found out about her funds being used in Moderna when she was thanked in a preliminary report.
She appeared on âTodayâ shortly after she learned about her funds being used in Modernaâs development and said, Praise the Lord! I m just very grateful that this is happening, and if I had anything to do with it, that s great.
