Connecticut Man Charged With Dragging New London Officer With His Car

New London police have arrested a Connecticut man who allegedly dragged an officer with his car. Police say 25-year-old Kyndrel Dawson, of Willimantic, dragged an officer almost a full mile after the officer attempted to have Dawson exit his vehicle. The officer was hospitalized for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Dawson was charged with reckless driving, interfering with an officer, multiple accounts of assault, and violation of a protective order. A passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Diamond English, was also charged with interfering with an officer and criminal impersonation, after providing police with a false name and birthday. The investigation is ongoing.

New London officer dragged by fleeing suspect: police

Updated: 1:21 PM EDT April 27, 2021 NEW LONDON, Conn. A New London officer is recovering after police said he was dragged down the road by a suspect s car. Police said officers were called to the area of Westomere Terrace and Montauk Avenue around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday on the report of a suspicious event involving two people in a white vehicle.  While at the scene, officers spoke with 25-year-old Kyndrel Dawson of Willimantic and 20-year-old Diamond English of New London. Police said English initially gave officers a different name and date of birth due to an active family violence protective order that Dawson was allegedly violating.
