KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One year after George Floydâs murder, 41 Action News â in collaboration with KCUR 98.3 â wanted to see the impact of his death in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 2020, hundreds of Kansas Citians gathered at the Mill Creek Park near the Country Club Plaza to protest following Floyd s murder.
On Tuesday, the Kansas City Public Library hosted a town hall, led by 41 Action News anchor Dia Wall, to revisit some of the people affected by the protests.
The panel included KCMO Mayor Quinton Lucas, Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department Capt. Jeffrey Hughley, KCUR visual journalist Carlos Moreno, local protestor Bukeka Blakemore and RE Store Owner Chrysalyn Huff.

The discussion is hosted by the Kansas City Public Library, and is part of a reporting collaboration - 9:29: The minutes that changed Kansas City - between 41 Action News and KCUR-FM 89.3.
The conversation will be led by 41 Action News anchor Dia Wall, who will be joined on stage by KCUR visual journalist Carlos Moreno, Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas, Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department Capt. Jeffrey Hughley and local protester Bukeka Blakemore.
