nothing to do with the wall. food stamps have nothing to do with the wall. let s fund those. we ll fight about it in the context of the dhs budget and, you know, we ll live to fight another day. let s get one more that would be one way to actually senator, you say that people feel like the president doesn t know what he s proposing. you don t know what the president is proposing. but some people say they don t really know what democrats are proposing, either. you talk about border security, it s sort of a vague term. what are democrats, and you obviously caucus with the democrats, what are they proposing? in the appropriations bill that passed was $1.6 billion for border security and there were lots of pieces of it. anderson mentioned more border patrol people, technology, fencing. there may be and in fact, a wall could be part of it. a portion of it. there s wall down there now. i ve seen it. i ve been to the border in texas. but to that s why i say i keep getting back
right of people to enter the country illegally. the president is doing the right thing. before the midterm elections which we can t forget. there are so many events happening coming fast and furious. when we had you on last weekend you were warning that if the democrats took the house it would be a big problem in terms of getting fund fg are the wall and other initiatives. now as you ve seen, democrats are taking the house but the president is increasing his majority as you know in the senate. what does that mean looking forward to the new congress in terms of dealing with illegal immigration. i m concerned that the house is being run by the democrats. dhs budget is being held hostage, right? and you can threaten to shut down dha as you want but that s what the democrats want. shut down i.c.e., the border patrol, they re not supportive
gloria this fight is really exposing some divisions within the republican party and lawmakers there in the house. how big of a test is this for boehner? well look this is a big test for boehner. boehner boehner s had big tests before. i m ready to pull my hair out. i don t know about you. this is ridiculous. this is the department of homeland security. people conservative republicans are trying to make a point here. they don t like the president s executive order on immigration. they don t want to fund it. so that s why it s part of the dhs budget. we understand the point. they ve made the point. this is the department of homeland security. you don t want people to have to work without a paycheck or furlough 30,000 people. so they ve got to get this done. they ve got to get it done by the end of the day. and boehner knows it. i think lots of republicans know it. i will tell you this ana, that when you look at our own cnn
