SURAT: Anti-corruption sleuths nabbed three employees of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Wednesday while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a woman sanitation worker. The woman was asked to pay the amount to enable her get a transfer to an area of her choice.
The accused were identified as sanitary sub-inspector Dhiren Solanki, and sanitation workers Lalji Jogadiya and Dipak Makwana.
The complaint against the accused was lodged by a friend of the woman sanitation worker from whom the money was demanded. The complainant alleged that the accused demanded money to transfer the woman to an area of her choice and to help her in leave approval.
