737 Palampur, May 20 Residents of Lohardi village of Chhota Bhanghal in Baijnath subdivision of Kangra district have been confined to their homes for the past 15 days. The village nestled amid Dhauladhar ranges has reported two Covid deaths and 35 positive cases so far. Nearby Shuru village is also badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Every third person here is Covid positive. Today, 30 fresh cases were reported in the village. Virus tightens grip Lohardi village has reported two Covid deaths and 35 infections so far Shuru village reported 30 fresh cases on Thursday with every third person testing positive for Covid-19 Lohardi reported its first Covid-19 case in the first week of May. The patient had returned home from another state just before the lockdown. By May 12, the case count in the village had reached 30. The hamlet has been declared a containment zone and mass testing is being undertaken, said Palampur SDM Dharmesh Ramotra.

16030 Palampur, February 8 The district administration today declared Netaji Subhash College of Nursing as containment zone after its 17 students tested positive for Covid-19 last night. Passing the order to this effect, Palampur SDM Dharmesh Ramotra said Section 144 of the CrPC had been promulgated to avoid crowding. The entire college complex, DMC Hospital and a part of Ward 13 of the Palampur Municipal Corporation has been declared containment zone till further orders. The SDM said arrangements had been made to test over 100 students of the nursing college who were residing in hostels. The infected students have been sent in isolation as per rules. College Director Bhubnesh Sood said the institute’s management was extending full cooperation to the administration and the Health Department in tackling the situation. OC
