Maharashtra: Lockdown announced in Nagpur from March 15 to 21, liquor shops to remain close ByPratik MukanePratik Mukane / Updated: Mar 11, 2021, 14:10 IST Nagpur district of Guardian Minister Nitin Raut made the announcement in view of a massive spike in the district in a span of 24 hours. The development comes after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said a second lockdown can be avoided only if citizens in the state follow Covid-19 rules. Yesterday, 1,710 people were found positive in a span of 24 hours. The Covid virus is spreading rapidly in the city and rural areas. We had a lockdown on Saturday and Sunday, however, people did not take it seriously. The positive patients were found roaming. Even after repeatedly telling people, people are behaving like there is no fear. Considering yesterday s situation, I have to take the decision. From March 15 to 21, there will be stricter lockdown in the city.
