During the months of winter, our capital repeatedly makes it on the list of world cities with the most polluted air. There are days on end, when our busy metropolis also tops the list with AQI (Air Quality Index) scores that could spell disaster for our respiratory health.
Air pollution in Bangladesh has been worsening with the increasing level of fine particulate matter, which is greatly responsible for many serious non-communicable respiratory diseases and is associated with cardiovascular problems, diabetes, etc.
Air pollution and anxiety: Although limited studies have explored the connection between anxiety and air pollution, the results show that both short- and long-term exposure to particulate matter can result in symptoms of anxiety.
