Rehabilitate street children, SCAN urges government
Street Children Activists’ Network Bangladesh on Wednesday urged Bangladesh government to allocate special funds for the rehabilitation of street children.
SCAN made the demand in a ‘meet the press’ programme virtually on Wednesday and said that the street children were now facing severe food and other crisis due to Covid crisis.
‘They are now living inhumane lives due to Covid-19,’ SCAN chairman Jahangir Nakir said while addressing the programme as the chair.
He thanked the government for increasing the allocation to the ministry for women and children affairs in the proposed national budget for 2021-22 and urged the government to ensure proper and transparent use of the budget allocation.
