PSMA says to move court if sugar lifted under new price July 20, 2021 LAHORE: Sugar-millers of Punjab have warned the provincial government of legal action if any attempt is made to lift the commodity from their premises under the new price, fixed on July 16. The Punjab government, through a notification, No DD (PR)2-11-2021, fixed sugar price at Rs 88.24 per kilogramme. However, the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA), through a letter to all deputy commissioners of Punjab, warned that the sugar price fixation matter was sub judice in the Lahore High Court (LHC). Thus the deputy commissioners should not take any illegal action or violate the court order.

He also directed for arresting the contractor concerned involved in this scam. He directed for restoring water supply scheme in Fort Monroe on an emergent basis and said that underground tanks should be constructed in remote areas to store water.

‘Developers of illegal societies to be penalised’ Lahore February 10, 2021 LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat has said that those who developed illegal housing societies across the province would have to face punishment and on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan as protection to the savings of the poor people would be ensured. He stated this while chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development on Tuesday. The committee considered a plan of action to launch a crackdown on illegal housing societies in the province. Raja Basharat said that decades-old illegal societies had not been regularised so far and no action has been taken against anyone while savings of millions of people had sunk into these societies. He said that the committee would determine the causes of illegal societies and private and government officials involved therein.
