York, co-chairwoman of the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers, and family rank No. 859 with a net worth of $3.5 billion. The family is among 32 people on the list at that rank.
DeBartolo Jr., former 49ers owner who owns a Florida-based property development and investment firm, is No. 1,362 with 81 other people who have a net worth of $2.3 billion.
York’s family owns more than 90 percent of the 49ers, the NFL’s fifth-most valuable team, worth $3.5 billion, according to Forbes. Her father, Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. property and shopping mall developer bought the team in 1977 for $13 million. She took controlling interest in the team in 2001.
