Ald. Sigcho-Lopez says a killing outside a downtown nightclub last weekend might have been averted if the city had shut it down following a mass shooting this summer.
Police closed Persona Lounge after a security guard was charged with killing another guard there, but should have shut it down after a July shooting outside the club left two people dead and three wounded, Sigcho-Lopez says.
Cook County prosecutors said the confrontation was captured on surveillance video and multiple witnesses identified Devontrell Turnipseed as the shooter.
