[ laughter ] perhaps you should have walked outside. perhaps i should have put on my boots. if you looked at the place i figured it would be in the same vicinity. i mean how much does it move? well it does a rotation every night. in two hours. ask the weather guy and we ll explain how much it can move. we do have it on video though. that s hilarious. let s look at what i
thank you for being with us on this tuesday morning. i m steve chenevey. i m sarah simmons in for gurvir dhindsa. this is video or this is a live picture we re looking at right now of the total eclipse of the moon, just almost over. but the skies are mostly clear outside so you should able to see some of it. it started a few hours ago and should last another 15 minutes or so. the eclipse is caused by the earth passing between the sun and moon overnight and gradually casting its giant shadow on the moon. this is video from earlier this morning. tucker, you said you saw it. gorgeous. it was sort of of a bright orange. glowing. yes, glowing. you don t see it in those shots but i guess it was because it was fully covered at that point and that is why it looked orange. it is a death difficult to explain. the sun s rays get bent around the earth and as they shine on the moon, they look orange. i just did an incident prompt use ask the weather guy. did you ask a
i m sarah simmons in for gurvir dhindsa. welcome to fox 5 morning news. stargazers have been looking at a total eclipse of the moon from overnight. the best time to see it lasts for another 45 minutes or so. you can see if you take another live look at the moon right now, it is amazing to watch it. the earth is casting a shadow on to the moon. if skies are clear where you are, you should be able to catch a glimpse of it. not something you see every day. let s check in with tucker barnes to see for a lot of folks were able to see this. if you peek out the door right now, you will see it as the moon starts to show itself once again. the moon actually looked orange. go look outside right now. i can t believe you haven t seen it yet. i saw it right there. you got to see it with the naked eye. clear skies here for the next self hours. then the clouds will quickly move in from the west. we ve got a weak little clipper system. the light snow shower activity you see into west
strip mall in oak lawn where tom negovan is looking at what s left of the fire. reporter: what s left behind, not a whole lot. eva s bridal and radio shack gutted. other businesses sustaining damages. the great news is no one was hurt. that s great when you look at the size of the fire. amazing cell phone video shot as flames burst through windows. it started inside eva s bridals. what the video doesn t show is the most heart breaking loss: all those wedding dresses. you see the lesses go up like that in the blink of an eye. reporter: witnesses can t believe what they saw. the brides to be can t believe it either. valerie cool s daughter gets married december 4. she was supposed to have her wedding dress fitting here tonight. there s some other young girl getting married this saturday that was supposed to pick her dress up tonight. the wedding dresses contributed to the progression of the fire as well as the construction of the building. reporter: that constructio
doctors may have determined that the baby may be hispanic and may have been born between midnight and 6:00 this morning. the baby was found in the parking lot of this church a short time later. just before the first mass of the day at this springfield catholic church, a disturbing discovery. in the parking lot, a baby was found inside a bag. according to authorities, a church door noticed the bag around 6:30 this morning. they inspected the bag and saw there was an infant and it and that the infant was crying. they brought the baby into the church and called 911. the little girl who was wrapped in blankets or to house appeared to just be hours old. she was taken to the hospital and in good condition. a m. we expect her to stay in hospital several days. in virginia, safe haven laws allow a parent to leave a child up to 14 days old at a hospital or rescue squad, but it does not include the churches. they wonder if a sign in the parking lot prompted whoever is responsible
