Nick Seager, 75, has completed a gruelling charity challenge that took him from Land’s Ends to John O’Groats, and everywhere in between. He battled heavy rain and bad weather on his final stretch through Scotland, but didn’t let that dampen his spirits. He said: “What an amazing 23 days where family, old friends and new friends joined with me for the experience of a lifetime. Thank you! “It was a challenging last day but nothing was going to stop me or Richard and his family from reaching John O’Groats! “I set off earlier than they did but they were still two hours behind me at the finish. And we all celebrated in style.

All money raised will go towards the group s work in the community. He set off in the sun from his home in London Road yesterday (June 2) surrounded by other Lions and his proud wife. Nick will become one of the oldest people to complete the ride without a support team and expects to be back by the end of the month. His route will take him through sights such as the Two Tunnels in Bath, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen canal and through scenic routes such as in the Lake District and Aviemore. Nick has been inspired by his son, Jerry, and his girlfriend who cycled the globe - and he posed for a photo in the same spot as they did in 2018.
