2021/01/22 12:18 MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Amanze Ngumezi had 17 points as Jacksonville State edged past Murray State 85-82 on Thursday night. The Gamecocks led by 10 with 2 1/2 minutes to go but Chico Carter Jr. rallied the Racers. He had them within two following his 3-pointer off a turnover with a minute to go. After a pair of Ngumezi free throws at 24 seconds, courtesy of his offensive rebound, Carter made a layup to cut the deficit to 83-81 with 16 seconds to go. The Racers then came up with a turnover but Devin Gilmore made just 1 of 2 from the foul line at the 11 second mark. A quick foul allowed Darian Adams to make a pair from the line but Murray State couldn t get a tying shot to drop.
Carter Jr. lifts Murray St. over D-III Transylvania 90-49

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Chico Carter Jr. came off the bench to score 14 points, leading five into double figures and lifting Murray State to a 90-49 win over Transylvania on Tuesday night.
Tevin Brown had 12 points for Murray State (4-2), which earned its fourth straight home victory. Brion Whitley added 11 points and six rebounds. Devin Gilmore and KJ Williams each added 10 points.
The Racers extended their home win streak to 25 games.
Lucas Gentry had 11 points for the Division III Pioneers, whose season-opening losing streak stretched to four games. All are to Ohio Valley Conference teams Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State twice and the Racers.
A battle of the Sivills siblings ends in a Racers win

A Sivills family affair was in full effect at the CFSB Center on Tuesday, as Jackson’s Murray State Racers came away with the win over Will’s Transylvania Pioneers in a game their family will never forget.
The Murray State ties run deep within the Sivills family, starting with Scott Sivills who is from Cadiz, Kentucky, suited up for the Racers in 1989.
The 6’7″ forward played four seasons with Murray State from 1989-1993, serving as a backup to current Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach and former Racer big Popeye Jones at one point in his collegiate career.
