PEARCY - Junction City muscled up Saturday and won the 3A Division of the Arkansas High School State Weightlifting Championships, hosted by Lake Hamilton. The Dragons lifted 5115 pounds, beating Booneville’s 4800 in Class 3A. Junction City was second overall to Benton, which totaled 5330 pounds.
When Devin Ball took over the reins of Junction City’s program last spring, he turned to a senior who hadn’t played in three years to guide the Dragons’ offense.
More often than not during football season, it’s skill position players that are in the spotlight thanks to their ability to find the end zone on every snap.
