With theatres reopening in Telangana recently after a nine-month shutdown and big Tollywood releases lined up for release over the next few weeks, cine-goers are gearing up to watch films on the big screen again. And while film buffs are looking forward to dance, cheer and clap at their favourite hero’s entry scenes or punch dialogues, there will be a something amiss this time around. Due to the Covid-19, several prominent single screen theatres across Hyderabad have been forced to shut shop, and are being turned into other businesses. Iconic cinema halls such as Galaxy 70MM in Tolichowki, Sree Mayuri in RTC X roads, Amba in Mehadipatnam, Shanti in Narayanaguda, and Venkatadri in Dilsukhnagar will no longer screen movies.
