INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) Lucas Oil Stadium has received a highly sought safety designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, one of only twelve stadium venues in the U.S. to receive the certification. It has been awarded the Developmental Testing and Evaluation Designation from the DHS in recognition of its safety and security program.
According to the Capital Improvement Board, which oversees the Indianapolis Colts venue, Lucas Oil Stadium had to meet specific security standards, known as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technologies.
The standards were developed in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
