Women entrepreneurs, especially those in poor rural areas in the country can now have immediate access to technology aid through the government’s Women-Helping-Women: Innovating Social Enterprises or WHWise program.
This was assured by Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) on Monday, March 8, as the nation observed the celebration of the International Women’s Day. The Council said with the implementation of the WHWise Program, a public-private partnership initiative, women-led social enterprises were being readied for growth, scalability, and subsequent venture capital funding.
“More importantly, the DOST-PCIEERD shall connect these women entrepreneurs to the science community and provide access to technology assistance so even the most rural women can be part of the global economy,” it said in a statement.
