3 deaths; 62 +ve in Ludhiana

Tribune News Service Ludhiana, December 10 Three persons lost their life to Covid, while 62 persons tested positive for it in Ludhiana district today, taking the death toll in the district to 926. Those who lost their lives today included three men aged between 40 and 77. Two of them were admitted to Fortis Hospital, while one was admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital. Out of the total people who tested positive, 33 were referred from flu corners, five each were contacts of positive persons and were referred from OPDs. Seven under-trials also tested positive, while the tracing of 10 was under progress. Meanwhile, to formulate a strategy to conduct the first-of-its-kind massive Covid vaccination programme, the district administration has set up a 16-member district taskforce (DTF) for coronavirus vaccine committee headed by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma.

The deputy commissioner said that the vaccination drive is expected to start in Ludhiana in coming weeks. LUDHIANA: The Ludhiana administration has set up a 16-member District Task Force (DTF) to coordinate and oversee the Covid-19 vaccination drive. The task force, that comprises commissioner of police Rakesh Agrawal, additional deputy commissioner (Development) Sandeep Kumar, civil surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga and other officials, will report to the Covid-19 vaccination committee headed by deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma. Sharma chaired the first meeting of the task force on Thursday and said that the vaccination process is expected to start in the coming weeks.
