Plans for 53-storey net-zero Birmingham tower unveiled

5/5 Developer Woodbourne Group has unveiled plans for a 53-storey tower in Birmingham, which it says will be the world’s first net-zero carbon skyscraper. The £360m project, to be called Curzon Wharf, will be close to HS2’s Curzon Street station in the city and feature three tall buildings, standing at 53, 41 and 14 storeys respectively. The city centre site of 993,046 square feet will provide new residential, retail, office and research space in an area currently occupied by industrial units built in the 1960s. If the scheme is approved, the build-to-rent tower would be 172 metres tall, making it the city’s largest building.
