Wilfred is not impressed unless we get a 500 point rally, but either way this is the longest string of gains i am impressed. I am impressed. You said, eh, less than a percent. 0. 04 we gained yesterday. Doesnt take much. I need to offset it is incredible. It is. The dow is up almost 5 for the month. The nasdaq and s p up 4 . That clearly is highlighting that this rally picked up again after decemb
3760. S p 500 up 36 points. Up by better than 2 . All the major averages clapping on 2 moves. Stocks skyrocketing on signs today lawmakers are moving towards some sort of a short term debt ceiling deal. Bob pisani, they sure made a big bet that the meeting scheduled for 4 30 p. M. Eastern time at the white house will go well. Thats what were focused on now, bob. Thats right. All of this on a belief that a deal is going to happen. Take a look at the Dow Jones Industrial average essentially closing a t the highs of the day. We were all up throughout the day. Took another leg up on the hopes, again, these are hopes that maybe getting the Government Back into business, getting the government working again, might even be part of the deal. Most people thought it wasnt going to happen throughout the day. That aspect of it. But thats hope springs eternal. Take a look at what we had moving today. Up 80 points on the industrial average tonight finishing at the high of the afternoon, 13,470. Volume picked up a bit today. The nasdaq composite also higher. Also closing at high, up about 16 points on the nasdaq, s p 500 up 11 points, threequarters of 1 . The rally back on. S p 500 closing at the highest level in five years once again.
