No parade, but most Memorial Day events will be happening in Detroit Lakes this year
Last year s Memorial Day weekend festivities were largely curtailed due to COVID-19 restrictions, but this year, the calendar for May 28-31 looks pretty full aside from the lack of a parade.

For the second straight year, the Memorial Day parade in Detroit Lakes will not be happening on Monday but most other events set for the weekend of May 28-31 will be going on as planned.
Detroit Lakes skateboarders forming association to build and improve area skatepark
Members of the Detroit Lakes Skatepark Association are preparing to incorporate themselves as a non-profit organization to begin writing grants, and raising funds, to build a new skate park in Detroit Lakes. The group believes the new skatepark will cost about $600,000 in total, but will be taking some of the initial costs one-at-a-time, according to the association chairperson.
