Poles N Holes postponed; more Polar Fest events set for this week
The Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club announced Wednesday afternoon that its annual Poles N Holes Ice Fishing Derby, which was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6, has been postponed to Feb. 13 due to the subzero temperatures expected to sweep through the region this weekend. More Polar Fest events, including the Noon Rotary s Polar-riffic Spaghetti Feed, Ice Tee Golf and Freeze Your Buns Run, are scheduled throughout the week; the festival concludes Monday, Feb. 15.

Detroit Lakes’ annual celebration of all things winter, Polar Fest, is set to open this Thursday, Feb. 4, with more than two dozen activities slated to take place in and around the community through Monday, Feb. 15.
Becker County Museum Executive Director Becky Mitchell says the time is now for museum supporters who have not yet made a donation toward its $6.4 million building project, as they still need to raise just under $500,000 before breaking ground on the new facility this spring.
