The operating hours for the UNHCR Arrest and Detention Hotline have been changed to 8.00 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays, and 8.00 am to 4.00 pm on weekends. This change will be in effect beginning the 20
th of December 2020. Individuals who wish to report instances of arrest and detention can continue to do so within the operating hours stated above, or by submitting an online report through the Refugee Malaysia contact page.
The verification of UNHCR documents with SQR codes can also be completed through the UNHCR Verify-MY app, downloadable for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Authorities can also request for access to the UNHCR Card Verification System (CVS) by contacting the UNHCR Protection Unit at [email protected].
