A couple of people were seen paying their respects at a makeshift memorial in the 100 block of James Street as police continue its investigation into the Sault’s latest homicide.
Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre General Manager Ron Sim says that he first saw Charlotte - the woman s surname isn t known at this time - come into the soup kitchen in January of last year.
“I believe at that point she was fairly new to town, because she kept asking me where she could go for different things,” said Sim. “At that point, she didn’t live in the area - she must have lived somewhere, I believe, either on Gore or somewhere in that area, and then she ended up moving to Al’s place [Al’s Corner Pub] later in the year.”
