A man was shot and killed Wednesday in Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood, marking the latest fatality in an ongoing spate of gun violence.
Portland police said they responded to the 11800 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. and found the man dead.
The shooting occurred in the parking lot where several food carts are located, including a pizza shop, a Mexican food cart and a drive-thru tobacco store.
Brittney Heffron, 38, was working at the tobacco store around 5 p.m. and said she heard a commotion that she thought might be a car crash. She didn’t see anything unusual when she looked out the shop’s front window but said police flooded the parking lot within about five minutes.
