A high level drug dealing father whose body was found in a wheelie bin in a dam was allegedly murdered five days before the grisly discovery, a court has heard.
Todd Nathan Kiernan, 28, was charged with the murder of Dinh Lam Nguyen and faced Perth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday afternoon.
The charge read to Mr Kiernan by Magistrate Joe Randazzo alleges he murdered Mr Nguyen at Mahogany Creek on January 20, the last day Mr Nguyen was seen alive.
It was also revealed the pair were allegedly drug business partners and had met in jail when they were both serving time for meth dealing offences.

WA Police homicide squad detectives have identified a man whose body was discovered in a wheelie bin dumped in a dam in Perth s east on Monday.

Detectives are appealing for information about the recent movements of Mr Nguyen, who they said was last seen on Wednesday, January 20, in Balga.
Mr Nguyen was reported missing by a housemate on Friday, but police said the information did not suggest he was in any imminent danger.
The body of a man found wrapped in plastic inside a wheelie bin has been formally identified.
Dinh Lam Nguyen, 51, who was known to police, was last seen in Balga, north of the Perth CBD, on January 20.
He was reported missing two days later, and on January 25 his remains were discovered at the Glen Brook Dam, east of Perth.
A foul smell led a group of teenagers and an adult to open the wheelie bin, which contained Nguyen s decomposing body.
Acting Detective Inspector Sean Wright confirmed Nguyen had family and children, with some based in Perth.

A body was found stuffed into a wheelie bin floating in a dam has been identified as a high level drug dealer and father-of-three.
Dinh Lam Nguyen, 51, who was well-known to police, was last seen in Balga, north of Perth s CBD, on January 20.
He was reported missing two days later by his roommate, and on Monday his rotting remains were discovered dumped in the Glen Brook Dam.
A foul smell led a group of teenagers and an adult to open the wheelie bin, which contained Nguyen s decomposing body wrapped in pink plastic.
Police are still hunting for his killer.
