Im interested to hear your thoughts on their relationship after the war, personal relationship and especially the fact that sherman advised grant not to enter politics at all. We know shermans own view of president ial politics. Can you shed some light on that and how it affected grant at all, or what counsel sherman may have given him . Thats a good question. Sherman was completely i shouldnt say a political. He was antipolitical. He hated the whole game of politics and didnt want to get involved. I think he may have thought to grant, you know, youre unsuited for this. This is really not what you were cut out to do. Senator john sherman was a politician, aspirate for the presidency. I think there was an element of tension then between sherman and grant because of that, that sherman may have thought that grant made some mistakes in become being president and particularly in the western policy, indian policy. I think sherman was much more sympathetic to sheridans ideas of just trouncing

Guest there are little bits of overlap into canada from the eastern grid and down into mexico, i guess, from the texas grid, but by and large, youre talking about three grids. Host how are they assembled . Guest well, they are assembled, there are 3200 parts to it in the sense that there are 3200 electric companies in this country. And whereas in the old days we used to have verticallyintegrated companies that produced power or communicated it across large, vast spaces of the country and downloaded it to the customers, these days some of which produce power, some of which convey power, others of which delay power x from a Commercial Point of view, that works out very well. Power can be purchased in the country from wherever it is not needed, for example. Winter time, florida doesnt need as much electricity. The big problem is the power, the use and the consumption and the production of power. Has to remain in perfect balance. The only thing that is capable of maintaining a perfect bala
