PETALING JAYA: TH Heavy Engineering Bhd yesterday handed over the first of three offshore patrol vessels to the home ministry after a three-year hold-up caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and delays in importing the latest technical equipment for the ship.
PUTRAJAYA: The government will pump in RM152.6mil to take over the stalled offshore patrol vessel (OPV) project by a former Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH) subsidiary, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has taken over the offshore patrol vessel (OPV) project from THHE Destini Sdn Bhd after discovering significant problems, including the need for the government to provide an additional loan of RM152.6 million to ensure the completion of the first vessel within this year.
