“We are writing to express concern for the physician/nurse practitioner shortage in Cochrane,” the board of trade stated in its letter to council.
“Currently we have three physicians and one nurse practitioner for a population of about 6,000 residents. As a result, there are many residents who do not have a family physician, with over 600 on a waiting list and approximately 400 others not registered.
