A swimmer in Texas has died after developing a meningitis infection caused by a brain-eating amoeba from an Austin area lake, health officials announced Wednesday.
The individual, who was not named, swam in Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, which is about an hour outside of Austin, Texas, before falling ill with the amoeba.
