Empire State Development announced Monday that it will give Eastman Machine Company up to $210,000 in tax credits in exchange for creating jobs. Eastman, a cutting and material machine manufacturer, is located on Washington Street and is planning to add 7,400 square feet by the end of this year for loading docks, materials storage, and automated assembly.

Known as La Plaza de Virginia, the development will also include a community senior service center and café. The developer is Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo, a nonprofit organization that provides integrated social services to underserved communities in the Buffalo area. La Plaza de Virginia is part of Governor Cuomo s unprecedented $20 billion, five-year affordable Housing Plan.
