YouTube is bringing together some of today’s most influential beauty creators, public figures and celebrities for their first-ever
YouTube Beauty Festival. Premiering May 14, the summit-style event will be hosted by YouTube s Head of Fashion and Beauty Derek Blasberg, and will feature Selena Gomez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Addison Rae, Ashley Graham and many more celebrities and beauty influencers.
Many of the celebs in attendance are not just beauties, they have their own makeup and wellness lines. Gomez launched her Rare Beauty makeup line last year, Paltrow has been the head of all things Goop since 2008 and Graham has collaborated on several makeup and skincare lines.

Without the immense influence that Asian skin care has had over the past decade, the beauty industry would be nothing like it is now.
Asian beauty ingredients, traditions and sensibilities have had a significant impact on everything we do for our beauty routines, thanks in part to brands like Tatcha, Then I Met You and Glow Recipe. The popularity of beauty influencers like Bretman Rock, Patrick Starr and Nabela Noor has even further cemented the authority that Asian Americans have in the beauty world.
But it wasn’t always this way. Daniel Martin, the celebrity makeup artist and global director of artistry and education for Tatcha, remembers when Asians had extremely limited visibility in the beauty industry. In the ’90s, when he was just getting started, the only two Asian beauty brands that were known in the U.S. were Shiseido and Shu Uemura, and neither was a household name like Revlon or CoverGirl.

The formula obviously features vitamin C to brighten and balance out unevenness in the skin, but it s not just any vitamin C. Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate and ethyl ascorbic acid, according to cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson, are more potent forms of vitamin C that will encourage extra brightness and help smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
One of the most intriguing combinations in the ingredient list is the Dezi Youth Juice, a cocktail of Mexican plum fruit, dragon fruit, açaí berry, tamarind, mango, guava, and avocado extracts. According to Perkins, this blend is inspired by her own lifestyle, which includes growing her own fruits and vegetables.
