FARGO The mask mandate in Fargo is set to expire on February 18, but some are urging Mayor Mahoney to extend it again.
Those on the board of health voted today to ask Mayor Mahoney to extend the mask mandate.
They say it s too early to let our guard down. They say if the mask mandate is removed we could see another spike in cases, and should wait until more people are vaccinated.
Long-term care facilities will also be receiving vaccine soon.
Schaefer said once FCPH receives its anticipated vaccine sometime early next week the agency will set up a site to administer the vaccine and invite first responders to come in to get a shot.
Originally, workers like emergency medical providers and fire department workers were included in the category of those who can be first in line for the vaccine from the public health agency, but Schaefer said law enforcement workers were recently included as well.
Schaefer said while it appears there will be a gap between vaccine supply and the needs of FCPH early on, she stressed that that gap is expected to shrink quickly with the arrival of additional vaccine deliveries.
