Triallists and their dogs descended upon the Kauana Sheep Dog Trial Club s centennial in Otapiri Gorge in central Southland earlier this month.

A party at a mansion in the Auckland suburb of Westmere descended into bloody chaos when a guest suffered critical injuries after being apparently stabbed by a champagne flute. The event on Friday night was at a property in Rawene Ave that was crowned NZ Home & Entertaining Home of the Year in 2007. One of the attendees told the Herald it was a beautiful occasion, with wonderful catering - but shortly before 8pm it took a dark turn.

Members of the Series 1 Land Rover Enthusiasts group descended on Whanganui from around New Zealand for a tour of the region.
The tour last weekend was hosted by Whanganui residents Phil and Gillian Avery.

Virgin Galactic (NYSE:SPCE) shares descended Friday morning after the company delayed its next spaceflight test, which was scheduled for this weekend. We have been progressing through our pre-flight preparations and, during that process, we have decided to allow more time for technical checks. We are working to identify the next flight opportunity, the company said.
The stock had jumped 13% the day before, after a notice from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicated the spaceflight test was on track to launch as early as Saturday. The company had confirmed that it was making good progress through our flight preparations, but noted at the time that the flight attempt was still pending technical readiness.
